On the surface, “The Time Cavern,” appears to be an average, YA Sci-Fi adventure tale. The plot initially simplistic: A young boy (Aaron) and his tomboy girlfriend (Jake), discover an ancient mystery of the universe, a time machine. Yet, the story is more than a fiction-adventure for young boys (and girls). It is also a learning tool. For, nestled within the pages of his story, Todd Fonseca subtly weaves an abundance of life-lessons.
I was pleasantly surprised to find “The Time Cavern” overflowing with factoids involving astronomy, science, history, religious acceptance, and family tolerance...all intertwined into an intriguing tale of mystery, discovery and suspense.
One of my favorite chapters involved a brief, but heartfelt, father-son talk...climaxing with ten-year-old Aaron’s realization that he indeed needed to take responsibility in his being grounded. Sprinkled throughout the book, precious gems of knowledge and wisdom are as abundant as the hidden clues propelling Aaron and Jake’s quest to solve the ancient mystery.
I highly recommend “The Time Cavern,” for parents that are looking for an intellectual story that neither talks over the heads of its readers, or talks down to them. It is easy to tell from Todd Fonseca’s tale, that he possesses the wisdom of the ancients, and the soul of eternal youth.

Todd A. Fonseca has written a dandy little time travel adventure. One hopes The Time Cavern is the foundation for many sequels to come. Aaron Logan's family has moved to Amish country, and this move is not a smooth one for him. To get away from his siblings, he is allowed to pitch a tent in the back area of the yard. He hears mysterious noises and with a flashlight goes to investigate. The spooky thing, the wind? Well, it whispered his name... In his search of the property, Aaron finds pages of a diary that is 100 years old, and he becomes obsessed with finding areas mentioned in the notes. A girl, Jake, who lives on the farm next to the Logans, becomes friends with Aaron and she joins in the mystery solving. Turns out there was an Amish boy who disappeared 100 years ago, in this same area, and the diary pages must be his! In their adventure of unraveling the mystery of the lost boy, they find a most unique time machine. But it doesn't look like a time machine, and it darn well doesn't come with intructions - at least that they can tell. Or does it? If you have ever visited Amish communities, you will understand the 'otherworldliness' of the areas. Simple homes, green shades on the windows, the horse driven carriages that co-mingle with modern cars. It would be easy for kids to get caught up in the mystery of a community that is so different from ours. Mr. Fonseca's book has been suggested for younger folks, and it certainly is kid friendly, teen friendly, but adults PLEASE read this book too - it is a pleasure and the principle of the time travel process is a fascinating one that will entertain everyone. I look forward to the next adventures of Aaron and Jake...and company. ellen george

First, Nike Air Jordan Shoes
there is a lot of people think that to shut down the season jordan retro 5 schedule is too dense, leading the team injuries rampant, Jordan Shoes For Saleair this view is no data to support. U.S. media ‘d done the appropriate statistics, the conclusion is that this year the number of players injured and absence time, and not necessarily higher than in previous years. However, since the schedule density, the past, the absence of two weeks may be less to play seven games (total schedule 1/12), Jordan Shoes For Saleair may now be extended to 10 games (1/6), which is shrinking the season unique characteristics. jameskk19881226
