Not only describing, but in particular analyzing and evaluating (2010-03-11)
The first paper where critical views were presented on the so-called "Back-to-Basics" movement. This is of special meaning as at that time the "Back-to-Basics" movement was at its beginning. This shows that the author wasn't only describing UMPAS, but as well evaluate its affect and making reflection on what was going in mathematical curricula reform at international level. Note: George N Malaty of Egypt is the same person George Malaty of Finland. Around the mid of the 1980s he started to use the Name without 'N'.
