I have an interest in psychology, and particularly enjoyed Dr Aniela Jaffé's biography of Dr Carl Jung.
This book is based largely on Professor Freud's work, although Dr Rodman also comments on more recent developments in his field. The book mainly describes his work as a psychotherapist, dealing with 'sick' people.
It was often hard work to get through this book, but I found it generally excellent. His degree of insight is remarkable, and he is honest. I sometimes felt that he was rather inflated, but he was also honest about his failures, and the difficult lessons he had learned. Being a psychoanalyst appears to be an awfully difficult job, but it is reassuring to think of how many patients Dr Rodman has helped. A truly gifted man.
