"Beneath the Flames" is a about a young man, Mitch, who needs to deal with his sense of guilt about what he thinks was a failure. He leaves his farm, his brother and a father who is also full of guilt. He goes to the city and continues his life as a fireman and develops self esteem and empathy for the inner city residents his unit is assigned to. When he takes risks, he finds more truth and hope, and in turn, finds peace and kindness and a new life. I wish there were more "Mitch's" in the world. I hope the author will write a sequel for Mitch, I believe he has more to say.
